Hi. I love your work. You did such a wonderful job on Laura's kid's pictures. I was wondering about your pricing? I have a two year old son and am looking for some different kinds of photos. Please e-mail me at aliciamsaldana@yahoo.com
Thanks, Alicia Saldana

Key Katie! These are so fun! I don't know what you'e talking about, because your b/w look great! Here's what I do though: First, I start with a picture that has already been edited in color, so the lighting and contrast already looks good. I use gradient map to convert to b/w and then tweak it using curves if necessary. then I have an action that gives them a slightly brown tint, which I almost always use. You can get the same effect though if you pick a nice chocolate brown in your paint palate foreground, then go to hue and saturation and check the colorize box. It will automatically use the foreground color you chose and give your pic a brown tone, then just mess with the saturation to make it more subtle. Good luck, let me know if you have any questions. You're doing great!

Katie!!! These kids are darling! You amaze me. How much do you process the pictures in PS? We have got to go shooting together. I have a couple shoots coming up- I've got a regular portrait/fashion shoot tomorrow, and I've got a family session and a couple engagements that I need to set dates for coming up too. Let me know if you want to come shoot with me on any of these. I'm not gonna lie, I'm still learning my camera, and you have a Nikon too, so maybe you could help me figure it out a bit... AND, it would give you something to shoot too! ;-)

Are you doing newborn pictures for Trisha's baby? I'm dying to try a newborn session!!
